The original hand-written register of births is in the Skamania County Auditor’s office in the Courthouse at Stevenson, Washington. The child’s name is not given in many instances. It appears that this register may have been made from the duplicate certificates that were filed in the county, and it is possible that before the original was sent to the state (after 1907) the names were filled in. One would have to follow one through to the State Department of Health to find out for sure.
